3. Cut out cable and focus on quality family time or time for yourself to read, exercise, and plan.

4. Switch to an exercise program instead of paying separately for exercise classes.

5. Host a potlock for family dinners instead of footing the bill yourself.

6. Use Groupon.com to save money on getaway packages.

7. Make your coffee at home.

8. Spend time working on home projects instead of shopping.

9. Wait 48 hours to make a buying decision instead of impulse buying.

10. Use blogs, Pinterest, and YouTube tutorials and learn how to do things yourself instead of hiring others.

11. Outsource online with Fiverr.com to same time and money on creatives.

12. Get creative with gifts and/or regift.  Make gifts from the heart.

13. Choose quality over quantity and buy a better product instead of purchasing a lesser quality product.

14. Deal with your emotions instead of going to the mall.

15. Stop trying to keep up with Kardashians, or the Joneses, or whoever your next door neighbors are.

16. Read a book on personal finance like Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.

17. Resist the urge to buy ice cream and jog in place instead.

18. Map out your financial goals for the day/week/month/year.

19. Keep your eye on the prize and post the amount of money you want to save on the refrigerator where you can see it everyday.

20. Track your progress daily and keep up with your checkbook register.
